Fundraising is an important source of income for many organizations. For many, coordinating a fundraiser can be a daunting task. At Mid-States Fundraising we work hard to make your fundraiser a fun and profitable experience. Here are some tips to help make your next fundraiser a success.

FUNDRAISING TIPS

  1. Set a monetary goal of how much you need to make in your fundraiser.
  2. Choose a product to fundraise that will work for your families and make the most money in the shortest amount of time. Be mindful of the weather when selecting a product.
  3. Decide on when to start the fundraiser based on your school or organizations calendar.
  4. Choose a fundraiser coordinator to collect the money and be in charge of the orders when they arrive for distribution.
  5. Decide on what motivation will work best for your age of students. Doing a fundraiser with motivation will help to make the most of your efforts. Which motivation would work best for your fundraiser – one for the parents, one for the students, or one for families together?
  6. Decide on a “turn in day” for your orders and money.  Will you accept late orders?
  7. When the fundraiser is complete, total up your orders and send them in.  Keep copies of any order forms in case of loss in mailing.
  8. When product arrives, check them over before distribution to avoid any potential future problems. (hint) If choosing a product that is home delivered to your customers, you will avoid having to deal with any sorting, pickup distribution or returns issues.
  9. Give the parents a date to turn in all damages or mistakes to finish the fundraiser in a timely manner.
  10. If parents contact you with any mistakes or damages, log them completely so that you know who gets replacement items.
  11. Hopefully you have had a successful fundraiser, and are ready to sign up for next year!
